Hotel Review: The View hotel at Monument Valley (Utah, USA)

Imagine that Monument Valley was something you’ve always wanted to see. Now imagine searching “where to stay in Monument Valley” and these words appear on your screen: “The view from each guestroom at The View Hotel is unlike anywhere else in the world. It is worth a journey from across the US or from the other side of the world.” And finally, imagine yourself not booking a room there. CAN you, seriously? Me neither!

Lodge review: Red Cliffs Lodge (Moab, Utah)

Utah is home to some of the United States’ most popular national parks. If your Utah itinerary includes Arches and Canyonlands national park, it is a good idea to stay somewhere in or near Moab. We stayed in Red Cliffs Lodge, which looked absolutely gorgeous on the web page. I admit, I felt for the photos. In this post you will find a detailed review of Red Cliffs lodge and see why it’s rated as one of the top places to stay in Moab.

Hotel review: Moxy Phoenix Tempe (Phoenix, Arizona)

Our USA road trip in October started and finished in Phoenix, Arizona. Since we were facing a lot of hotel-changing on the road, we wanted to stay somewhere nice and comfortable for a start. Our plan was to spend the first 2 days in Phoenix and the itinerary involved some hiking and shopping. We weren’t interested in visiting downtown, hence I searched for the hotels in Tempe to be as close to our interest points as possible. When the name “Moxy” appeared in my search, the decision was instant. I love Moxy and Moxy Phoenix Tempe it was. And once again, Moxy did not disappoint.

Hotel review: Grande Fjord Hotel (Geiranger, Norway)

If you are traveling to Western Norway, the famous Geiranger fjord will probably be on your “must-see” list. It is one of Norway’s most visited tourist points, especially since it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2005.  Despite its popularity, there are not many options to stay near Geiranger fjord. Especially, if you want to spend the night in a small cozy village, located in the end of the fjord. There are a couple of hotels in Geiranger*, but you need to be super fast to get a room there. Luckily, Grande Fjord Hotel had a vacancy during our road trip and we decided to treat ourselves with a fjord-view room.

Hotel review: Lilland Brewery Hotel (Tau, Norway)

When I was searching for a hotel near Preikestolen, there were not many options to choose from, as it was almost a last-minute trip. We wanted to start the hike to Preikestolen early in the morning so we didn’t want to waste too much time driving from Stavanger. Lilland Brewery hotel was one of the few descent options with private bathroom at affordable cost. The location seemed convenient as well, so I booked a double-bed room for one night. We were pleasantly surprised!

Hotel review: Moxy Bergen (Bergen, Norway)

Did you know that Bergen is the rainiest city in Europe? Having that in mind, we didn’t want to spend too much time getting wet, but we still needed a good base camp to start our Western Norway trip. We landed in Bergen late afternoon and our plan was to drive towards Stavanger first thing in the morning. Moxy Bergen hotel seemed to offer a fair combination of the location, guest rates and reasonable prices. In reality, Moxy Bergen is one of the coolest hotels I’ve stayed at. That’s why we spontaneously decided to spend our last night there as well.

Resort Review: Veligandu Island Resort & Spa (Maldives)

Maldives was not planned for this winter, however the covid-19 situation left us with not many safe travel choices. I desperately needed an escape to a tropical climate, even if just for a week, to warm up my bones and recover from all the stress in 2020. I have had my share of Maldives vacations, so I definitely know what to look for when choosing the right island. This time I decided to trust the photos and reviews of Veligandu Island Resort & Spa and go for the water villa. I couldn’t have made a better choice.
